Air Astra is a new airline in Bangladesh that has recently obtained a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) on November 4, 2021. This is a significant milestone for the airline, as it is one of the necessary regulatory approvals required to launch a new airline in Bangladesh. Furthermore, Air Astra is in the process of obtaining its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) for commercial launch. Once this is complete, the airline will be able to launch its operations and begin offering flights to passengers in Bangladesh.
Initially, Air Astra was scheduled to operate its inaugural flight in January 2022. However, due to the delay in the Air Operator Certification procedure, the launch has been postponed. The airline is currently working closely with the authorities to expedite the process and ensure that it can begin its operations as soon as possible. Despite the delay in the launch, Air Astra has already established a fleet of two ATR 72-600 planes.
